The Drum & Bass heavyweights come to Preston!!! Their 3rd album just hit number 1 in the U.K album chart, these guys are unstoppable!!!

2005 saw Pendulum release their debut artist album on Breakbeat Kaos, the highly acclaimed ‘Hold Your Colour’ that went on to sell in excess of 300,000 copies and spawned their first Top 30 hit in the shape of the single ‘Slam’. The band’s full live experience (which adds guitarist Perry ap Gwynedd, drummer Kodish and MC Verse to the core trio) also became an exciting prospect with a defining headline performance at Glastonbury’s Dance Stage being a particular highlight. By now the biggest artist on the underground, Pendulum aimed to continue their rise by signing a new deal with Warner Bros. Records / Ear Storm.

Re-emerging with the fan favourite single ‘Granite’, it was the Radio 1 A-listed follow-up ‘Propane Nightmares’ that enabled Pendulum to leap into the mainstream. The band then followed a defining performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend by seeing their second album ‘In Silico’ debut at 2 in the UK album charts. The album was certified Gold within a month of release and its success continued unabated over the summer months with a diverse array of festival appearances including Download, Reading / Leeds, Creamfields and T in the Park. Following a succession of sold-out London shows and a memorable performance on Later with Jools Holland, Pendulum’s momentum continued with their biggest UK headlining tour to date before an audience in excess of 50,000 people. Radio 1’s continuing support also included a special documentary on the band that aired over the Christmas period, while ‘In Silico’ approaches 300,000 sales in the UK alone.

As 2010 progresses, the Pendulum juggernaut continues to roll on, devastating all in its path. One of the most visceral and exhilarating live experiences around (“One of the most enthusiastic reactions afforded a main stage act in Big Day Out history,” observed Kerrang! “Phenomenal doesn’t even come close”), Pendulum’s highly acclaimed live performance has been captured in their ‘Live At Brixton’ CD / DVD set.

Watch them rock the main room of the newly refurbished 53Degrees and for the epic lauch night of FWAP!

★★★ T.C (Where’s my money?!) ★★★

"His beats are so advanced that they make rookie producers want to give up, his record sales continue to confound 'vinyl is dead' doomsayers, and with a live act that's touring the world - TC is just irresistible in drum & bass right now." K Mag, 2007

2009/2010 has undoubtedly been TC's year: verified by sales, awards, great press coverage and extensive club and radio support from dance music's elite. Each of the singles taken from his debut album 'EVOLUTION' topped both BBC Radio 1's national dance chart and BBC 1Xtra's drum&bass chart. These include 'Deep', 'Jump', 'Rockstar' and 'Where's My Money'. Largely due to unprecedented radio support from BBC Radio 1, XFM and KISS FM including Zane Lowe (the album was his record of the week) Annie Mac, Jo Whiley, Pete Tong, Mary Ann Hobbs, Grooverider, Eddy Temple Morris and DJ Hype.

TC left school and jumped straight into the studio and with his Atari ST and sampler and started making tracks "I'm still trying to capture the vibe production can be sweet but if there's no vibe the tune is never going to work". After 8 years of learning and producing and song writing TC is now one of drum and bass's brightest sparks with all the major DJs smashing his tunes.

"I want to make music that can be enjoyed by anyone. I make every style of drum and bass because you never know where you are going to be playing. You might turn up to the gig and there's 8000 people standing in front of you wanting you to smash it or maybe just 300 but you have to have the right tools in your box to get the job done and take them on a journey".

FWAP! brings the guy responsible for (arguably) the most popular song in dubstep to this date, Where’s my money?! to the awesome club that is...53Degrees!!!

★ D.O.D (AKA Dirty Dan) ★

D.O.D’s passion for music began when he bought his first set of turntables at the tender age of 11. Up until last year the DJ went under the name of his alter ego ‘Dirty Dan’, but after recently being signed to a record label it seemed a name change was due, and the name D.O.D was born! Now, at the age of 22, D.O.D is considered one of the most exciting new talents to come from dance music. Having literally played all over the country he rocks crowds every week, taking with him his unique, in your face turntable wizardry, playing a mix of House, Techno, Electro, Breaks, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Hip-Hop and Indie.

It is not just his technical skills that separate him from the rest as his creative abilities and imaginative style always shines through when he hits the decks, never failing to impress. Before every show, he digs out the finest acapellas, bootlegs and instrumentals to bridge the gap for switching genres of music.

D.O.D has recently been signed to one of the country’s hottest new indie labels, ‘Gash Digital’. With various tracks and remixes already released and his debut EP ‘No Smoke’ due for release at the end of July, 2010 is set to be a busy year for the rising star. Two of his tracks on the forthcoming EP are being supported and played by house legend, Laurent Garnier.

D.O.D is resident for some of the hottest club nights in the North: ‘FWAP!’ in Preston, which is a 1600 capacity new night specializing in the unexpected! ‘Play’ in Lancaster, ‘Revolution Saturdays’ at various Revolution bars and clubs, and not to mention the hugely successful new club night ‘Lancaster Loves’. These residencies enable D.O.D to DJ alongside the biggest artists in the industry. Just this year alone he has gained praise from huge DJs such as Mistajam, Kissy Sell Out, Freemasons and Grooverider; all of them commenting on his enthusiastic and energetic nature behind the decks along with his precise but inventive use of CDJs.

D.O.D’s ability to play so many different styles of music has seen him become one of the most interesting DJs to hear and watch for a long time. Whether he’s playing a House warm up set, a pumping House and Techno peak time set, a Dubstep and Drum and Bass set or even and all out student mash-up frenzy, D.O.D is a DJ that must be seen.
