Twisted Wheel

The three piece punk band from the east end of Manchester sold out 50 out of 55 shows on last tour of the UK.  Every heavyweight from Oasis to Kasabian to Paul Weller has had them for support with good reason – The Wheel present a vigorous, energetic show and are undoubtedly the last and the first of punk – clearing away the leftovers and roaring in with furious melodies and tight songs.

A rare chance to see the Wheel push the pedal to the floor before the headline new album tour next year. The Manchester band, renowned for their punk energy and tight songs have been ripping up venues the length and breadth of the UK over the past two years, keen to keep closer to you all and as far from the bullshit as possible.
Playing old favourites plus a few new songs, this is an opportunity to see the new line-up (Jonny Brown - guitar and vocals, Eoghan Clifford - drums, Stephen Evans - bass) embody the full-on revolution TW always hinted at.

Get in while you can. Rock n roll suddenly got a whole lot dirtier!!

The Guardian’s Paul Lester:  ‘The sound of Manchester’s youth snatching back ‘60s psychadelia and using it to smash in the windows of ‘77 punk….Basically, the kid from ‘Kes’ has formed a punky skiffle band and he’s pissed off about that dead bird……the band produce a ‘furiously fast rockabilly rumble, so primitive and unrefined it  makes the Monkeys sound like ELP.’

The Greasy Lips Club always deliver an outstanding musical feast for their faithful followers. With some of the potential stars that have passed through the night, plus the incredible line up of DJs, you would not be surprised if they continued working to the same formula.

Well these guys will not rest on their laurels, and when a band like Twisted Wheel pop up on the horizon, why hesitate when they can be booked in to rock the venue.

Twisted Wheel are one of the hardest working touring bands on the scene. They were the main support for none other than Oasis and Paul Weller in recent times as well as The Enemy and Kasabian amongst others. There festival CV takes in T In The Park, Leeds and Reading and their critically acclaimed self titled debut album will hopefully be followed in the near future as the band have been in the studio working on new material.

With amazing reviews of their recent T In The Park gig (not a mean feet considering they managed to rock a packed Radio 1/NME stage in what can only be described as torrential downpour), this opportunity to see this seriously talented rock band up close and personal is one not to be missed.

With a great live support and DJ line up to be announced, this event is an exciting one and with tickets already on sale, we advise you get involved early!

Twisted Wheel are the new punk band pulling the carpet from under the commercial cats' feet by their D.I.Y. no-nonsense rock 'n'roll business: relentless rehearsals, touring the UK with euphoric, powerpunch gigs performing new superbreed songs along with old favourites.

The three piece, who Oasis named as their 'top band of choice', are all about the music and fans, selling out 50 out of 55 gigs on their last tour with no major radio play. This is a rare chance to see one of the tightest rock 'n' roll bands play one of the U.K's tightest rock 'n' roll cities.

“With a smear of Oasis, a bite out of the Buzzcocks, and a dollop of Jam, what's new about three Oldham lads in a band named after the legendary northern soul club? Somehow, everything. Every track, especially She's a Weapon and Bad Candy, sounds fresh, aggressive, and sneeringly brilliant. Twisted Wheel haven't started a revolution, but since touring with big names, they're turning quite a few heads”.
