Little Boots Little Boots voted biggest pop act of 2009!

A poll of 130 music industry movers and shakers were asked who they predicted would be the voice of 2009 for 'BBC’s Sound of 2009' and Little Boots aka Victoria Hesketh came out on top.  They believe the 24-year-old peroxide blonde will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight and the Ting Tings who have all finished in the top five of the poll in recent years.

She is still very down to earth and when speaking of her excitement at being recognised in the Sound of 2009 poll she said: "I just hope people in Blackpool will hear me on the radio now!"

Little Boots will play at 53 Degrees clubnight DIY @ PROMO on Thursday 12th March and limited tickets are already selling fast.  DIY has a history of showcasing hot bands before they hit the big time.  Hard Fi, Foals, The Hoosiers, Jamie T, Iglu & Hartly, The Sunshine Underground, Jack Penate, The View and The Twang all played to audiences who can now say “I saw them when…”

Little Boots' Stuck On Repeat is available as a featured free download on iTunes this week.

Other bands coming up on Thursday club night DIY at 53 Degrees include Roses Kings Castles (feat Babyshambles drummer), Baddies and Preston bands The Carletons, Chaotix, Jelly’s Last Jam and Bikini Black Special.  Buy tickets for these and all 53 Degrees events at www.53degrees.net
