The Magic Numbers play at 53 Degrees
The Magic Numbers come to 53 Degrees to share their own brand of indie joy with the good people of Preston.
The group released their Mercury nominated eponymous debut album in 2005 going to No.7 in the UK charts and spawning 4 top 40 singles, including the big summer anthems ‘Forever Lost’ and ‘Love me Like You’. Then followed up just a year later with ‘Those the Brokes’ which reached No.11 and included another top 20 single in the shape of ‘Take a Chance’
The Magic Numbers are a four piece indie band from Ealing, London. The band consists of two brother-and-sister pairs, Romeo Stodart (guitar, lead vocals) and his sister Michele Stodart (bass, vocals), and Sean Gannon (drums) and his sister Angela Gannon (percussion, melodica, vocals), who came together as a band after Romeo and Sean started writing songs together. While the Gannons are of Irish heritage, the Stodarts are the children of a Scottish father and a Portuguese mother and were born in Trinidad in the Caribbean and raised in New York, before moving to London in the mid-1990s.
No strangers to Preston, The Magic Numbers caused quite a stir in October 2005 when they played a packed out acoustic gig at the city’s independent record shop Action Records on Church Street.
It’s only 6 weeks away so make sure to get your tickets quickly for this one so as not to miss out.
